women's march:
march 7th, 2020

on the day before international women's day, we're taking to the streets.

Check out 2020 photos here!

Women’s March Ottawa is excited to that we will once again be hitting the streets to protest all forms of oppression and discrimination in Ottawa, Canada and Globally on March 7th 2020. We acknowledge that we will be gathering and protesting on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin people. As an Ottawa-based feminist group, we acknowledge the historic and current impacts of colonialism, which we commit to challenging in all that we say and do.

MARCH:
Marchers can meet at Parliament Hill from 10:30AM onwards, with proceedings beginning at 11AM. Emceed by our co-Chair Raylene Lang-Dion and co-Vice Chair Lyse-Pascale Inamuco, Elder Irene Compton, NWAC President Lorraine Whitman, and Minister Catherine McKenna will open the day.

The march itself will begin at 11:30AM, beginning at Parliament Hill, walking down Wellington St. to Bank St., then down Somerset St., then down Elgin St. to City Hall. Indigenous drummers are invited to lead the march at the front of the procession. There will be an accessibility bus available for those who require it that will follow behind the march. Check out this page for more information on accessibility at the event.

POST-MARCH:
